5 TV Shows You Should Binge Watch

I’ve been a bit of a sloth lately. (I have a really good reason. Trust me.)

I haven’t been hating it either. It means that I can eat breakfast in bed. It means that I can stay in bed until the middle of the day. It means that I can binge watching some of the best TV shows of all time. If you look at my Netflix queue, then you would see there are five shows that I have been constantly binge watching.

I love all these shows, so I thought that you should know about them, too! So, you know, you can binge watch them with me! What else is there to do on a Sunday? You should be binge watching TV shows!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

I was introduced to this show a while ago and I have fallen in love with it. I watch this show whenever I need a bit of a giggle and to just forget about life for a while. The show is set in a New York police precinct and focuses on the ‘typical’ day on the job. The show doesn’t run forever and a day, so it’s quite possible to get through a few episodes in an evening (speaking from experience here). So, if you’re looking for a laugh, then this is definitely the show you should be binge watching.

House, M.D.

I started watching this show when I moved back to Kuaotunu. You can probably tell that it’s a medical show. I love, love, love those types of shows. The show is set in a hospital and the team has to figure out what is wrong with a patient (or two) over the course of forty minutes. Every episode is essentially the same, which means that it can get a little repetitive, but I still enjoy watching it. I’m the type of person that always has to be watching a show about doctors or lawyers or police officers. I’m much better at figuring out a motive for a crime and who did it than trying to figure out why a person is dying. I guess I’m saying that you’d better hope that I’m your lawyer instead of your doctor 😉

Jane the Virgin

This is probably my favourite show. Ever. I’ve even considered watching it from the very beginning. Again. That’s how good it is. I could binge watch this show all day, every day and never get bored. The whole idea for the show is brilliant. I mean, who can’t tell the difference between a smear and artificial insemination? Really. I do love the show, but it does seem to be a bit dramatised. Over dramatic, even. It is a very easy show to watch. If you want something that you don’t have to think about then you should definitely watch this show.

Archer is a cartoon, but it is brilliant. I haven’t watched it in a while, but I love it. The episodes are short and sweet, not to mention hilarious. I remember watching three or four in an evening before going to sleep. It really is that good. It’s a spy comedy, which seems to involve more drinking and drugs than actual work. Accurate depiction? Perhaps not, but it is worth the watch. Go on, I know we’re all looking for that perfect adult cartoon 😉

The Originals

You can’t expect me to leave out some damn beautiful vampires, can you? The Originals is very similar to The Vampire Diaries. It has vampires, werewolves, witches, and hybrids. It has blood and murder and even a few raunchy scenes. I can’t lie, the main reason I started watching this show was because the actors are attractive. Seriously. Gorgeous. All of them. It only took two episodes for me to get hooked by the storyline. I might have to admit to being a bit of a fantasy nerd. I love that stuff. I mean, I grew up in the era of Twilight and Harry Potter. You can’t judge me (too much).

Oh my gosh I love Jane the Virgin! It’s so funny. And definitely super dramatic …which is great because it’s just like a Spanish novela LOL

I just binge-watched season 2 of Jane the Virgin which I had completely forgotten about until I saw this post a week ago. Thanks for reminding me! Still as funny and full of surprises!

I tried all of the other shows you mentioned and absolutely love Brooklyn 99 but can’t stand Archer and House MD although I understand the appeal. The Originals is kind of a guilty pleasure!

Would you mind if I tried my hand at a similar list?

Jane the Virgin is great! I just started rewatching it on Netflix 🙂 I know what you mean about Archer! The first couple of times I watched it, I was like ‘really?’ …and then it grew on me haha. I usually watch it right when I’m going to sleep. The Originals is good too, but I haven’t watched it in a while now. I’ve been watching Suits and White Collar haha.

Of course! Go for it 🙂

That’s two workplace comedies on the list! Completely agree about Archer and Brooklyn Nine Nine and should really check out the others. I’m actually doing a B99 retrospective and man I’d forgotten how confident and charming it is basically right out the gate.
